カルトワイン並みの人気＆実力を誇るあのワインです・・・
期待の２０１２年ヴィンテージが入荷しました・・・しかし日本へは極少量の入荷です・・・
《 ＫＯＳＴＡ ＢＲＯＷＮＥ コスタ・ブラウン 》
ソノマ、サンタ・ロサのトップ・レストラン「John Ash」で働いていたダン・コスタとマイケル・ブラウンがチップを貯めて０，５トンのピノ・ノワールの葡萄を購入し、初めてワインを造ったのが１９９７年でした。「コスタ・ブラウン」はソノマのシングル・ヴィンヤードをはじめ全てが少量生産です。
ワインスペクテーター誌（２００６年１２月）の表紙を飾った２００４年 Kanzler カンツラー・ヴィンヤード・ピノ・ノワールは９８点を獲得し、同誌歴代ピノ・ノワール史上最高の評価を得ました。また、２０１１年ワインスペクテーター誌年間トップ１００ワインにて、２００９年ソノマ・コースト・ピノ・ノワール（ＷＳ９５）が見事第１位に選ばれました。

２００９年ヴィンテージで誕生したシャルドネのワン・シックスティーン。名前はルシアン・リヴァー・ヴァレーを縦断するハイウェイ１１６に由来します。ルシアン・リヴァー・ヴァレーの７つの畑から。Boudreaux (Montrachet), Charles Ranch (Wente), El Diablo (Montrachet, Robert Young, Wente), Heintz (4), Searby (Rued), Ulises Valdez (Calera, Batto, Wente), Zio Tony (95,548) です（カッコ内はクローン）。

Our One Sixteen Chardonnay exhibits lush lemon lime and tangerine citrus. The flavors are succulent, fresh and lively on the palate, with a supple vanillin crème brulee texture. The finish gradually turns crisp with a final wash of mouthwatering natural acidity.

２０１１年ワインスペクテーター年間トップ１００ワインにて見事第１位に選ばれたソノマ・コースト・ピノ・ノワールと、ルシアン・リヴァー・ヴァレー・ピノ・ノワールです。
２０１２年ソノマ・コースト・ピノ・ノワールは、ソノマ・コーストの４つの畑から。Gap’s Crown, Griffin’s Lair, Terra de Promissio, Walala です。最初の３つの畑はソノマ・コースト南部ぺタルマに位置し、最後の畑は北部アナポリスに位置します。ソノマ・コーストを良く表した、清涼感やエレガントさを持ちながらも複雑味を有する味わいです。

The 2012 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir exhibits dark and blue fruits that drive down the center of the palate and slowly melt into all areas of the mouth. There is focused acidity and a tannic grip that carries the rich dark fruit character towards the midpalate, followed by creamy black cherry, dark plum and dried currants. There is intensity to this wine that is followed by a slow release of complex flavors and textures, leading to a long and lingering finish.

This Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is pure, balanced, lush and focused. Rich chocolate coverd cherries come to the front, white fresh ripe raspberries, pomegranate and cola develop throughout the palate, all resting generously on the top of the tongue. The lingering finish wraps around your palate with focus and freshness.

２０１１年ワインスペクテーター年間トップ１００ワインにて、２００９年ソノマ・コースト・ピノ・ノワール（ＷＳ９５）が見事１位に選ばれました。２００９年にも２００７年ソノマ・コースト（ＷＳ９５）が第４位にランクインされました。発表と同時にソノマ・コーストは売り切れましたが、さほどポイントがかわらない２００９年ルシアン・リヴァー・ヴァレー（ＷＳ９３）がございます。ちなみに、２００８年ルシアン・リヴァー・ヴァレーは２０１０年に１２位に、２０１０年ルシアン・リヴァー・ヴァレーは２０１２年に９１位にランクインされています。
２０１０年ソノマ・コーストは、ギャップス・クラウン他のソノマ・コーストの３つの畑から。フレンチオーク（５２％新樽）にて１６ヶ月熟成。２０１０年ルシアン・リヴァー・ヴァレーは、アンバー・リッジ、コプレン、グラハム、キーファー・ランチ他のルシアン・リヴァー・ヴァレーの１１の畑から。フレンチオーク（４８％新樽）にて１６ヶ月熟成。
The 2010 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast is striking in its beauty. Freshly cut flowers, mint, dark cherries, cloves and violets seem to jump from the glass. A crystalline, pure Pinot, the 2010 is loaded with enegy and brightness. Though medium in body, the 2010 is all about vibrancy and nuance. This is terrific entry-level Pinot from Kosta-Browne. The 2010 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley is juicier, richer and rounder than the Sonoma Coast botlling tasted alongside it. Here it’s the immediacy of the fruit that speaks loudest. Cinnamon, cherries, plums and mint are some of the notes that flesh out on a juicy, exuberant finish that captures the essence of Russian River Pinot. シドゥーリ、ファイラ、ローリング、フリーマンなどに供給されるグリーン・ヴァレーの銘醸畑キーファー・ランチ。クローンは１１５、１１４、７７７、Pommard など。こちらもフレンチオーク（５４％新樽）にて１６ヶ月熟成。生産量１，１７７ケース
Another highlight, the 2010 Pinot Noir Gap’s Crown Vineyard is one of the most vivid, totally alive wines in this lineup. There is a lot going on in the glass, starting with beautifully delineated aromatics, great definition in the fruit and a long, creamy finish. Now that Kosta-Browne investor Bill Price has also purchased Gap’s Crown, this site becomes an estate vineyard for the winery. All the elements are in place for the 2010 to develop beautifully in bottle, but I will not be surprised if future vintages are even better. The 2010 Pinot Noir Keefer Ranch Vineyard hits tha palate with a blast of dark red cherries, pomegranate, spices, molasses, cloves and plums. The Keefer has a lot of fruit, but not as much energy as the rest of the Kosta-Browne Pinots. In my mind, Keefer Ranch has never been a truly great site for Pinot. I would love to be proven wrong, but I just don’t see much in the way of distinctiveness here. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018. – Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate #206 –

CIRQ Treehouse Vineyard Pinot Noir Russian River Valley

ワイン名の「サーク」はサーカスのイメージから命名。マイケル・ブラウンは幼少時代地元ワシントン州ワナッチーの少年サーカス団に参加していました。この時の経験が現在ワインメーカーとしてとても役立っているとのことです。ワインの裏ラベルはサーカスのチケットを模しています。
トゥリーハウス・ヴィンヤードは海岸から内陸に１３ｋｍ。標高２２５ｍ（霧の上）にある５，５ｈａの畑。鉄分が豊富な火山性赤土の土壌（赤いテラ・コッタ様の土質）。クローンは、ディジョン２３（３５％）、スワン、３７、ポマール、カレラで、台木は１０１－１４。樹齢は約９年。収量はなんと僅か２０hl/ha。掌に入るほどの小さな房が特徴。畑の名前の由来でもあるが、この畑の真ん中に巨大が糸杉が１本あります。マイケルは「いや、なにかのお告げかもしれない」と語っています。
「ピノ・ノワール栽培に最も適した土地は地球上にもうすでに割り当てられている。しかしそれを生かすには、まず発見し、人智と情熱を的確に注がねばならない。トゥリーハウス・ヴィンヤードは気候・土壌・人智が一体となり、類まれなる凝縮感となめらかなテクスチャーが際立つ。（マイケル・ブラウン）」

もう１つの自社畑は「ブートレッカー・ヒルズ・ヴィンヤード Bootlegger’s Hill Vineyard 」。同じ ルシアン・リヴァー・ヴァレーに位置しながら、トゥリーハウスとは全く違うワインに仕上がる。トゥリーハウスは赤土で黒系果実が凝縮するが、ブートレッカー・ヒルズはゴールド・リッジ土壌（白い土壌）。味わいは赤い果実が主体となり、よりエレガントで豪奢に仕上がる。リリース待ち。

ルシアン・リヴァー・ヴァレーのパイオニア「ロキオリ」と「ウイリアムズ・セリエム」です。J.Rochioli と冠されたシングル・ヴィンヤード・ワインは超入手困難なレアものです。特にジョー・ロキオリによって植えられたイースト・ブロック、ウエスト・ブロックはロキオリ・ヴィンヤードを代表する区画で、入手は超超困難なワインです。
The 2009 Pinot Noir West Block is an exotic wine bursting with dark red cherries, kirsch, hard candy, flowers, licorice and spices. There is plenty of energy, tension and supporting structure to balance some of the wine’s more overt, explosive leanings. The finesse of the 2009 vintage comes across nicely on the polished finish. From a relatively old vineyard (planted in 1970), the 2007 Pinot Noir West block is dazzling Pinot Noir. An extraordinary nose of kirsch, black raspberry, forest floor, crushed rock, and a floral cocktail of notes jump from the glass of this dense ruby/purple-colored wine. Full-bodied, with lots of glycerine, a fleshy mouthfeel, silky tannins, and terrific texture and length, this is probably my favorite Pinot Noir at this stage of its development. It should drink beautifully for at least a decade (like all of these Pinots). – Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #180 –
