コルギンの元共同経営者フレッド・シュレイダーが１９９８年に立ち上げた「シュレイダー」です。オークヴィルの超一流畑ベクストファー・トゥー・カロンからクローンのブレンド違いの５つのアイテムを生産しています。（トゥー・カロンはギリシア語で“究極の美”という意味です。）２００６年、２００７年、２００８年３年連続パーカー１００点を獲得したシュレイダーの「オールド・スパーキー（電気椅子）」です。１００％カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨンで、クローン４、６、３３７を使用。ムートンなどが使用する、ボルドーでもベストとされるフランス産の樽、ダナジュー Darnajou の１００％新樽で熟成されます。オールド・スパーキーはマグナムだけの生産です。２０１０年はトゥー・カロンのブロックＤ２のクローン６だけの使用です。
こちらも２００６年、２００７年、２００８年３年連続パーカー１００点を獲得したシュレイダーの「ＣＣＳ」です。ＣＣＳはフレッド・シュレイダーの妻、キャロル・コールズウォーシー・シュレイダーの頭文字から名づけられました。トゥー・カロンのブロックＣ１からの１００％カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨンで、クローン４のみ使用。ダナジューとタランソーで２０ヶ月熟成。
「ベクストファー・ラス・ピエドラス」はセントヘレナの西、ヴァレー・フロアーにある畑で、岩の多いローム層と川の小石と岩が堆積した土壌。この場所に最初に葡萄が植えられたのは１５０年以上前で、セントヘレナ最古の畑です。ラス・ピエドラスはスペイン語で“小石”という意味です。この２０１１年がファースト・リリースになります。１００％カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨンで、クローンは４と３３７。ダナジューとタランソーで２０ヶ月熟成。
「アストン・エステート」は、そのシュレイダーがピノ・ノワールに特化したワイナリーです。ディジョン・クローン（１１５，６６７，７７７）が植樹され、ソノマ・コーストを知り尽くすヴィンヤード・マネージャー、ウリセス・ヴァルデスが管理しています。日本初入荷です。
これらシュレイダーのワインを造るのがトーマス・リヴァー・ブラウンです。ヘレン・ターリーの下で修業し、２０００年にシュレーダーに参加しました。今や世界最高峰のカベルネのプロデューサーと言っても過言ではありません。他には、やはり注目のマイバッハ（ＷＡ９９）、アウトポスト（ＷＡ９８）、へスタン、ジョーンズ・ファミリー、キアレロでもワインメーカーを務めます。
The 2010 Cabernet sauvignon T6/Old Sparky Clone 6 Block D2 Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard is the base for both the T6 and Old Sparky bottilings. This is a superb Cabernet Sauvignon laced with dark fruit, spices, licorice, tar and smoke. It shows marvelous depth and richness all the way through to the intense finish. There is plenty of underlying structure to support the fruit. White flowers add an attractive element of lift on the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2028. – Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate #198 –
The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Old Sparky Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard is remarkably finessed for such a big wine. Mint, mocha, violets, tar and licorice are some of the many notes that swirl around in the glass. The balance of fruit, structure and acidity is just breathtaking. A huge, kaleidoscopic finish rounds things out in style. Old Sparky is a blend of the estate’s best barrels. The 2009 is 50% clone 6, 205 clone 337, 20% clone 4 from the C2 block and 10% clone 4 from C1 block. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2029. – Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate #198 –
Usually my favorite Cuvee, the Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard CCS is a beauty in 2011. Made in a showy, flamboyant style, it boasts a dense ruby/purple color as well as notes of crème de cassis, violets, licorice, forest floor and new oak. This supple, round effort is one the superstars of this challenging vintage. It should drink well for 10-15 years or longer. – Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #209 –
Schrader’s newest offering is the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard LPV, which comes from clone 337 of the Las Piedras site. This is a west side valley floor vineyard with a foundation of alluvial river pebbles and rocks as well as gravelly loam. The Schraders have a long-term lease on 5 acres, which, added to their 16 acres of Beckstoffer To Kalon and 5 acres of Beckstoffer George III, gives them some pretty serious leases on some of the finest terroirs in Napa Valley. The softest wine of this portfolio, there are 350 cases of the 2011 LPV, far less than the 600 cases produced in 2012. Given its warm micro-climated, these grapes were picked before the rain descended. The wine exhibits a dark ruby/purple color, supple tannins, and sweet red and black currants, licorice, Christmas fruitcake, incense and forest floor. This beautiful, medium-bodied 2011 is alraedy complex and evolved. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. – Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #209 –
The 2010 Pinot Noir Aston Estate flows from the glass with sweet red cherries, crushed flowers, spices and sweet herbs. It shows terrific density and richness in its texture, with layers of fruit that build nicely towards the deep, fleshy finish. This is a beautifully balanced wine. 「へスタン・ヴィンヤーズ」は、全米第一位の調理用品メーカーであるメイヤー・コーポレーション会長で、香港出身のスタンリー・チェンによって１９９６年に創業されました。ファースト・ヴィンテージは２００２年です。ワインスペクテイター誌で“２００５ナパの新顔ワイナリー”として高い評価を得ました。ジョセフ・フェルプス出身で、自らは「メラス」といブランドを所有するマーク・ヘロルドがコンサルティングをしていましたが、２００９年新ワインメーカーとしてシュレイダーでパーカー１００点を連発したトーマス・ブラウンを迎えました。今後ますます期待されるワイナリーです。
２００９年のカベルネはトーマス・ブラウンの作品です。１００％カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨンで、圧搾後強めに焼いた１００％新樽のフレンチオークにて１９ヶ月熟成。アンフィルター＆アンファインにてボトリング。ちなみに下記の２００７年はパーカー９４点でした。へスタンのセカンド的存在のシングル・ヴィンヤード・シリーズはマイヤーとステファニーです。マイヤーはトーマス・ブラウンが担当し、ステファニーはジェフ・ギャフナーが担当します。２００７年マイヤーは、１００％カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨンで、フレンチオーク（５０％新樽）にて１８ヶ月熟成。日本初入荷です。
Hestan Vineyards, which is owned by Stanley and Helen Cheng, encompasses well over 100 acres, of which 42 are under vine. The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon and 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon are more similar than dissimilar, which is somewhat unusual for these two vintages. The fruit is slightly sweeter and riper in the 2007, with perhaps more volume, but both wines possess opaque purple colors as well as considerable levels of tannin, purity, depth, full-bodied power, and lots of blue and black fruits intermixed with licorice, and subtle smoky oak. The 2007 gets a slight nod only because the tannins are riper. Both are top-notch efforts that should evolve for 20-25 years. – Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #186 –

今や世界最高峰のカベルネのプロデューサー、トーマス・リヴァース・ブラウン。シュレイダー・オールド・スパーキーで２００６年、０７年、０８年と３年連続パーカー１００点を獲得しました。他には、やはり注目のマイバッハ（ＷＡ９９）、アウトポスト（ＷＡ９８）、へスタン、ジョーンズ・ファミリー、キアレロでもワインメーカーを務めます。
そのトーマス・リヴァース・ブラウンが妻ジュヌヴィエーヴ・マリー・ウェルシュと自分の名前を冠して造るのがピノ・ノワール「リヴァース・マリー」。ソノマ・コーストに特化し、秀逸な畑の葡萄を用いたシングル・ヴィンヤード・ピノ・ノワールを２００２年から造り始めました。
シャルドネが初の正規入荷です。リヴァース・マリー唯一の白であるシエリオット・シャルドネは、ソノマ・コーストの最も古い地区オキシデンタルの冷涼地から。クローンはスワン、カレラ、ディジョン１１４、７７７です。ピノ・ノワールよりも収穫が遅く、リスクを背負いハングタイムを取った結果、ブルゴーニュのトップクラスに見られるハニーの風味を持ち、濃厚な新世界シャルドネとは一線を画す仕上がりになりました。畑の特徴を表すことを目的とし、新樽の使用は極力控えています（新樽２５％）。僅か１８５ケースです。
スーマ・ヴィンヤード・ピノ・ノワールもキスラーのトップ・キュヴェが生み出されるオキシデンタル地区から。スーマ・ヴィンヤードは１９８２年スティーブ・ヤングによって植樹されました（その後所有者が変わっています）。バート・ウイリアムズとエド・セリエムがこの畑を気に入り、１９８８年ウイリアムズ・セリエムからリリースされ、スーマは人気を呼びました。クローンは判っていませんが、オリジナル・スワン・クローンの説もあります。２０１０年トーマス・ブラウンがこの畑を購入しました。オールド・ヴァインが存在し、古樹からはタンニンの奥深さを、若いブロックからは香り高い果実味が表現されます。新樽は７５％です。ソノマ・コースト・ピノ・ノワールはオキシデンタル地区の数種の畑のブレンドで、赤系果実のエレガントな味わいです。リヴァース・マリーは全体でも２，０００ケースに満たないので超希少です。

オーナー、ドナルド・ブライアント Jr. が弁護士としての成功を収めた後、ナパ・ヴァレーの東側、アトラス・ピークとハウエル・マウンテンに挟まれたレイク・ヘネシーに面した北北西向きの斜面の標高２５０～３３０ｍにある５ｈａの区画を取得したのが１９８０年代後半。１９９２年に初ヴィンテージをリリースしました。ワインメーカーはヘレン・ターリー。その後もフィリップ・メルカ、マーク・オベールなどの一流のワインメーカーに引き継がれています。
（この金額が妥当かどうかは別として・・・）とにかく世界で初めて正規輸出された「ブライアント・ファミリー」です。ドナルド・ブライアントの妻の名を冠した「べティーナ」。べティーナは、かの有名なアメリカン・バレー・シアターのバレリーナ出身。現在副社長を務める彼女が精魂を込めて造り出す究極のナパ・ヴァレー・レッド・ブレンドです。２００９年がファースト・ヴィンテージです。そして、ブライアント・ファミリーのエスプリを充分に感じるセカンドワイン「ＤＢ４」。ＷＡ誌にてカリフォルニア・スーパー・セカンドのトップ７に選出されました。
２０１２年１２月アントニオ・ガローニによって９６＋点を付けられたブライアントのカベルネですが、１０月にパーカー再評価により９９点に格上げされました。９７＋点を付けられたべティーナは残念ながら９５点に格下げになりました。
Smoke, tar, incense and licorice are some of the many notes that emerge from the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon. This is an especially dark, brooding vintage for Bryant. Cassis, pencil shavings and melted road tar emerge later, adding further complexity and nuance. Unlike the 2009, there is little in the way of early appeal. On the other hand, I see the 2010 drinking beautifully for many many years. there is an underlying vein of minerality that gives the 2010 a sense of energy and focus. Teasing the taster with a possible three-digit perfection is the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Pritchard Hill. This beaty shows lots of crème de cassis, blueberry liqueur, spring flower and forest floor notes in an opulent, full-bodied, powerful, dense, rich style buttressed by significant ripe tannins and decent acidity. Again, the striking purity and singular character of this Bryant Cabernet Sauvignon, rivaling their 1997, but slightly more structured. The 2010 Bettina exhibits abundant notes of graphite, charcoal, blackberries and espresso roast along with fabulous fruit concentration and an unctuously textured, full-bodied mouthfeel with great definition and richness. This superb Bordeaux blend is more broodingly backward than the 2009, but it demonstrates the potential for at least two decades of longevity. – Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #209 –

Colgin’s 2010 Red Wine IX Estate emerges from the glass with super-ripe red cherries, flowers, white truffles, spice box and mint, all in a voluptuous style that captures the very best qualities of the year. In this vintage, the IX Estate boasts a level of generosity that make it slightly more accessible than the Tychson Hill. Sweet, seamless and totally pure, the 2010 is endowed with superb balance and fabulous overall harmony. The 2010 shuts down quickly in the glass and I suspect it may do the same in the bottle. The 2010 IX Estate is another perfect wine. Its opaque purple color is accompanied by copious aromas of blueberries, cassis, pen ink, asphalt, licorice and subtle oak. Full-bodied and rich but light on its feet, this spectacular effort was created from a blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc and 6% Petit Verdot. こちらもパーカー１００点生産者の「キャプサンディ・ファミリー」です。ルー・キャプサンディはナパ・カベルネのトップに君臨するべリンジャーのプライベート・リザーブ・カベルネに使用されていた畑、ステート・レーン・ヴィンヤードを２０００年に購入しワインを造り始めました。この畑の再開発、そして醸造に携わったのがカリフォルニア最強の夫婦、ヘレン・ターリーとジョン・ウェットローファーです。２００７年からは親子３代に亘りシャトー・ラトゥールのセラーマスターを務めたデニス・マルベック（１９９４年から９９年までラトゥール）がコンサルタントとして参加しています。
ロベルタズは、ルー・キャプサンディ当主の奥様の名前です。９６％メルロー、４％カベルネ・フランで、フレンチオーク（８０％新樽）にて２０ヶ月熟成です。ポムロールスタイルのワインで、生産量は２６０ケースです。ちなみに２００８年はパーカー９９点（日本未入荷）。ステート・レーンのグラン・ヴァン・カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨンは２００７年、そして２００８年と、２年連続でパーカー１００点を獲得。２００９年は８７％カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨン、５％メルロー、５％カベルネ・フラン、３％プティ・ヴェルドで、フレンチオーク（９０％新樽）にて２０ヶ月熟成。凝縮感と複雑味、そして美しさを持つワインで、生産量４８０ケースです。ロゼはセニエ製法で黒葡萄から。６３％カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨン、２５％メルロー、８％カベルネ・フラン、４％プティ・ヴェルドで、オークは不使用です。４５０ケースです。
The 2009 Roberta’s Reserve shows quite a bit more intensity, length and focus than the 2008 I tasted alongside it. Dark red fruit, flowers, licorice and new leather are some of the notes that take sharp in the glass. The 2009 boasts incredible depth and centeredness from start to finish. There is a crystalline purity and richness in the 2009 that is hugely appealing. The 2009 is 96% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc that spent 20 months in French oak, 80% new. The 2009 Roberta’s Reserve (14,2% alcohol), a luxury Merlot-based win, is composed of 96% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc. It possesses copious amounts of melted chocolate, fudge, espresso roast, black cherry, plum and Asian spice characteristics that hit the palate with a full- bodied crescendo, wonderful opulence and a juicy, succulent, voluptuous texture. This beauty is hard to resist. Unfortunately, they only made 260 cases, or 8% of the total production. – Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #209 –
The 2009 Cabernet sauvignon-Gran Vin opens with a rush of dark red fruit, flowers, spices, new leather and licorice. it is an extremely classy wine graced with exceptional length and tons of polish. The intensity tapers off just a touch on the mid-palate and finish. Readers who prefer a bigger style will probably gravitate towards the 2007 or 2008, but it would be a shame to miss out on the 2009. The blend is 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc, aged 20 months in 100% French oak barrels, 90% new. Anticipated Maturity: 2014-2024. – Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate #198 –
The more closed but potentially greater 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Grand Vin State Lane Vineyard is a 480-case blend of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot and Cabernet franc. It dense ruby/purple color is followed by notes of licorice, crème de cassis, camphor and subtle toast. Full-bodied and concentrated, it reprsents 15% of the total Kapcsandy production. The wine finished with 13,7% alcohol, which in these days is relatively low, although the alcohol levels were down in 2009 through 2011 because of the color, less ripe year. – Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #209 –

Tasting the three most recent vintages of the Scarecrow Cabernet Sauvignon was not only a privilege, but also an intellectual and hedonisticturn-on. The 2010 Scarecrow Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) is a magnificent wine. Full-bodied and opulent with terrific purity, an intriguing gravelly, wet stone-like minerality, and a sensational perfume, it has a spectacular finish that lasted over 45 seconds, offering up copious quantities of black currants, black cherries, cedar and vanillin. It is one of the superstars of the vintage. It is accessible now because of the sweetness of the tannins, but make no mistake, there is plenty of structure underlying the luxurious fruit levels. Scarecrow is one of the more intriguing stories in Napa Valley. Today the property is owned by Bret Lopez, grandson of J.J.Cohn, the famous movie executive whose name adorned the property untill fairly recently. The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon comes across as silky, perfumed and quite supple. It is a decidely cooler, more inward wine than the 2008 tasted alongside it, yet there is plenty of fleshiness in the glass to make me think it will drink well for at least a handful of years. Blackberries, graphite, spices and licorice are layered into the long finish. Anticipated Maturity: 2012-2024. – Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate #198 –
ハリウッドでの生活からワイン生産者になったダグ・バーとブルース・オズロの「ハリウッド＆ヴァイン」です。UCデイヴィスのメイナード・アメリン教授に敬意を表して命名した「２４８０」です。１００％カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨンで、フレンチバレルで熟成後、小さなオーク樽に移しさらに熟成させます。ボトルに数字の「２４８０」だけが描かれた印象的なボトルです。以前スポット入荷がありましたが、人気でした。
そして、セリア・ウエルチさん自身のブランド「コーラ」です。２５年以上ナパ・ヴァレーでワイン造りに携わってきたセリアが満を持して２００４年に自らのブランドを立ち上げました。コーラはケルト神話で予言を司る女神の名前で、鶴の姿で現世に姿を現すと言われます（ラベルに鶴のデザイン）。ナパ・ヴァレーの様々な個性溢れる土地を知り尽くすセリアがセレクトした葡萄は、プリチャード・ヒル、ラザフォード、オークヴィルの畑から。（下記はコーラの説明文です）
An early look at the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon (an identical blend) exhibits blue and black fruits intermixed with hints of spring flowers, forest floor, and background toasty oak. Given its level of concentration, and texture, it seems to have been harvested before any of the rains, as it is impressively pure and boasts a long finish. It should certainly equal 2008 in power and concentration, and it may possibly develop more complexity and aromatic dimensions. オンダ・ドーロはダナのセカンドワインです。イタリア語で“黄金の波”を意味します。２０１０年韓国でのＧ２Ｏ公式晩餐会にサーブされました。２０１０年はオンダ（波）に変わりました。エステートのブレンドで、４５％ロータス、１５％ハーシー、１３％ヘルムズ、２７％クリスタル・スプリング（オンダ用の自社畑）です。フレンチオーク、タランソー（７０％新樽）にて１９ヶ月熟成。
最新のワイン・アドヴォケイト＃２０９にて、パーカーは２０１０年ロータスに９８点を付けましたが、１１月再評価により１００点に繰り上がりました。
The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Lotus Vineyard from the Napa Valley ia a brilliant effort that flirts with perfection (much like the 2007). Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 24 months in 100% new French oak (225 cases produced), it boasts beauthiful ripeblack currant and blueberry fruit intermixed with hints of licorice, violets and forest floor. With more ripeness as well as a bigger, richer style than the other 2010s as well as formidable structure and tannin, this is a quintessentially gorgeous, compelling Napa Cabernet that is accessible enough to provide enjoyment now. The 2007 was pure perfection and the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Lotus Vineyard is another impressive effot (about 200 cases produced). Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Clone 337, 4 and 15, this is a relatively high elevation (1,200 feet) site and because of that, the wine shows lots of minerality and freshness. Expansive black currant and blackberry notes intermixed with graphite and flower aromas are followed by a full-bodied wine with structure, density and purity. There are 312 cases of the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Helms Vineyard, which has put on considerable weight since last year. Its dense purple color is accompanied by a glorious nose of dusty, loamy soil notes intermixed with black raspberry, black currant, camphor and subtle spicy oak. Aged 20 months in French oak, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Onda (510 cases produced) came across as an elegant, Bordeaux-styled wine with a touch of austerity as well as noble red and black fruits intermixed with forest floor, unsmoked tobacco, and a stylish, St.-Julien-like personality. Those who think Napa Valley only makes big block-busters are advised to check out this beauty of finesse, elegance and mid-weight. オーナーは、ＰＣソフトウェア業界で検索プラットフォームのメーカーとして有名なマーク・ネルソンとダナ・ジョンソンです。帝政ローマ初期の詩人オヴィディウスの名前を冠しました。オーヴィッドの自社畑はオークヴィルを見渡すナパ・ヴァレー東の１，４００フィートに位置する１５エーカーの畑です。栽培管理はナパのトップ・ヴィンヤード・マネージャーのデヴィット・エイブリュー、ワインメーカーはスクリーミング・イーグルのワインメーカーを務めた注目のアンディ・エリクソン、コンサルタントはご存じミシェル・ロランという、ナパ最高の布陣です。
詳しい情報は公開していません。２００８年は、６５％カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨン、２３％カベルネ・フラン、９％メルロー、３％プティ・ヴェルドです。２００７年は、４７％カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨン、３５％カベルネ・フラン、１１％メルロー、７％プティ・ヴェルドです。３０以上のキュヴェを別々に熟成し、ブレンド後さらに熟成。瓶詰め後１年の瓶熟成を経て出荷されます。
This operation has elicited considerable acclaim, given the talent involved. First of all is the terroir, a stunning location high on Pritchard Hill, a neighborhood filled with Napa superstars, such as Colgin, Bryant Family, Continuum, David Arthur, and Del Dotto. Add to that the level of talent – winemaker Andy Erickson, consultant Michel Rolland, viticulturalist David Abreu – and the result is essentially a think-tank of world-class quality.
Sweet dark cherries and plums are some of the notes that explode from 2010 Ovid. An utterly, breathtaking wine, the 2010 impresses for its incredible balance and overall sense of harmony. Flowers of all sorts, sage and rosemary develop in the glas, adding tons of complexity. Today the 2010 is a little reticent next to the decidedly more exuberant 2009, which is quite typical of wines from Pritchard Hill at this stage in the evolution of these vintages. Power, pure vibrancy and intensity are the hallmarks of the 2010. This is another stunning wine from the team at Ovid. I can’t wait to see how the 2010 develops in bottle. The 2009 Ovid is stunningly beatiful. At times it shows a little more depth, power and richness than the Hexameter, but both wines ae compelling. Endless layers of fruit saturate the palate as this rich, intense wine conquers the heart and intellect. A totally vivid wine, the 2009 is even more impressive from bottle than it was from barrel. Over the time I followed it, the 2009 gained finesse and elegance in the glass, which bodes quite well for the future. Intense graphite, crushed rocks and pencil sharving nuances add energy to the polished, huge finish. The blend is 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc, 8% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot. the 2008 Ovid is a slightly more restrained and marginally lighter version of the 2007. Still, it is a delicious, full-throttle, multi-dimensional wine, with loads of red, blue and black fruits and hints of camphor and grahite as well as forest floor notes in a medium-bodied, restrained, but impressively authoritative style to drink over the next 15 or more years. – Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #192 –

ファヴィアでは、カベルネ、右岸タイプ、シラー、南仏ブレンドの赤ワインを造り出しています。上記のカベルネは１００％カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨンです。２人が造り出すこのカベルネはまさにリトル・スクリーミング・イーグルと言えるかもしれません。リヴァイアサンは、ファヴィアから派生したブランドです。ファヴィアで使われなかった様々なキュヴェをパズルのように組み合わせて偉大なワインを造り上げました。２００８年サンフランシスコ・クロニクル紙が“次世代カルトワイン”として選んだ１０のワイナリーの１つです（他にレヴィー＆マクレラン、フトー、ゴースト・ブロックなど）。リヴァイアサンは旧約聖書に登場する巨大な海の魔獣で、７つの大罪のうちの嫉妬を司ると言われます。２００９年は、２８％シラー、２６％メルロー、２５％カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨン、２１％カベルネ・フランです。

「チェッカーボード・ヴィンヤーズ」は、２００６年にダイヤモンド・マウンテンの南側、標高９００～１９００フィートに位置する１２エーカーの畑で産声を上げた年間生産量約３５０ケースのブティック・ワイナリーです。デニス・オニールとステファン・マーティンの共同経営です。ワインメーカーは、パーカー１００点を獲得したスローン、ヘレン・ターリーが造り出したブランキエを引き継いだ今を時めく高名なワイン・コンサルタント、マーサ・マクレラン（ハーラン、ボンドのワインメーカー、ボブ・レヴィ氏の妻）です。ブランド名のチェッカーボードは元々の畑の名前をそのまま使いました。２００６年ヴィンテージがチェッカーボード初のワインですが、市場には出さなかったため、翌２００７年が正式な初リリースとなります。
２００９年レッドは、日本入荷した０７年、０８年の過去３年で最も柔らかい印象のヴィンテージとなりました。しかし、相変わらずリッチで凝縮感のあるスタイリッシュな味わいです。２０１１年がファースト・ヴィンテージとなるソーヴィニヨン・ブランが日本初入荷です。ワイナリー限定販売の秘蔵品です。樽発酵＆樽熟成（１００％フレンチオーク）ですが、重くなく、綺麗な柑橘系の風味を持ち、ピュアでドライで清涼感のある素晴らしい味わいです。生産量は４６ケースです。

畑の開発はナパのトップ・ヴィンヤード・マネージャーのデヴィット・エイブリュー、ワインメークは世界のトップ・ワイナリーのコンサルティングを務めるミシェル・ロランと、ハーランのワインメーカー、ボブ・レヴィの妻のマーサ・マクレランです。生まれた時からスーパーカルトワインです。オーナーはスチュアート・スローン。赤い刻印にヴィンテージを表示しています。２００２年、そして２００７年でパーカー１００点を獲得しました。
This small, 12-acre, boutique operation on the south side of Diamond Mountain debuted in 2006 (awarded 91 points in last year’s report). Approximately 350 cases of this wine made by well-known consultant Martha McClellen are produced.
The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is the lightest of these three vintages, but it will undoubtedly put on weight as its siblings did. At present, it reveals beautifully pure fruit, velvety tannins and sweet black currant, charcoal, graphite, blueberry and earth characteristics. These are all fragrant, rich, concentrated stylish reds made from primarily Cabernet Sauvignon blended with Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. – Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #192 –
Stuart Sloan’s operation on a beautiful hillside just above Auberge du Soleil has taken off in less than the a decade. They produce slightly morenthan 600 cases, but they hope to eventually reach 1,000 cases. This spectacular vineyard is treated like a spoiled child and Sloan boasts an impressive winemaking team of Martha McClellan and globe-trotting consultant Michel Rolland. The blend is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (80-85%) with the rest some awesome Cabernet Franc and tiny portions of Petit Verdot and Merlot.
The 2007 Sloan, now in bottle, has lived up to the extraordinay quality it exhibited from barrel. A world-class, perfumed nose of charcoal, espresso roast, white chocolate, black currants, sweet plums, Asian soy and a Grave-like scorched earth aromas soars from the glass of this dense purple-colored wine. Full-bodied and seamlessly constructed with a multidimensional mouthfeel as well as a phenomenal finish, this 2007 carries considerable tannin, but at present it is concealed by the wine’s luxurious levels of fruit, glycerin and intensity. 最新ヴィンテージ２０１１年は、ハイジの母ダイアン・ピーターソンの作品で、「イチゴとワイン」です。ダイアンは１９５５年にアメリカに帰化してから５０年以上のキャリアを持つ芸術家で、その作品は各国の美術館に収蔵されています。９６％メルロー、４％カベルネ・フランで、フレンチオークのタランソー、ラドゥー、ガンバで熟成。生産量は５６０ケースです。
２０１０年のラベルはハリウッドの大御所スター、トニー・カーチスの作品です。代表作「お熱いのがお好き」「スパルタカス」などをはじめ１３０本以上の映画に出演しました。彼は６０年代から絵を描いていました。彼の作品はニューヨーク近代美術館にも収蔵されるほどのクオリティーを持ちます。ラベルは「果実」です。９３％メルロー、７％カベルネ・フランで、フレンチオークのタランソー、ラドゥー、ガンバで熟成。生産量５７５ケースです。
この度アミューズ・ブーシュが温めてきた「ナパ・ヴァレーで最も讃えられるスパークリングワインを世に送り出したい」という１０年越しの夢が実現しました。それがリチャード・Ｇ・ピーターソン・ブリュット・ロゼです。瓶内２次発酵方式で造り、７年熟成させました。ワインメーカーはハイジの父、リチャード・Ｇ・ピーターソン。リチャードは古くはボリューでワインマスターを務め、ナパ・ヴァレーに多大な貢献をした方です。葡萄はリチャードがヨントヴィルに持つ自社畑のピノ・ノワール（１９９５年植樹）を使用しています。「ドン・ぺリニヨンの２００２年ロゼや、クリュッグの１９９５年クロ・ダンボネなどを思い起させる」とロブ・レポート（２０１３年８月）で紹介されました。２０年の熟成が期待されます。日本入荷４８本。当店には２本入荷です。
The 2010 Amuse Bouche Red Blend (93% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Franc from Rutherford vineyards) is considered to be a California version of a top-class Pomerol. It possesses a deep ruby/purple color as well as a sexy, mocha and black cherry-scented and bouquet with a hint of background toast. Round, juicy, supple-textured and opulent, it is hard to resist this medium to full-bodied red’s abundant quantities of fruit, glycerin and character. グルメやワイン情報満載のサンフランシスコ・クロニクル紙が２００８年春に次世代カルトワインとして１０のワイナリー（Buccella, DR Stephens, Futo, Ghost Block, Jonata, Keefer Ranch, Leviathan, Levy&McClellan, Salinia, Tor Kenward）を選びました。その１つ「ゴースト・ブロック」です。
醸造設備を持たない生産者がワインメークを行なうオークヴィルのナパ・ワイン・カンパニー。ここのセラーマスター、ロブ・ローソン氏が造り出す注目のワインです。ゴースト・ブロックの畑はオークヴィルの一等地に位置します。ご近所はハーラン・エステート、オパス・ワン、ロバート・モンダビのトゥーカロン・ヴィンヤードなど。この畑は１００年以上も前から１つの家族に受け継がれてきた、いわば家宝です。この畑の特徴的な一画から生まれたワインがゴースト・ブロックです。カベルネ発祥の地とも言われるオークヴィルの南端の墓地に１５０年前から眠りにつくナパのパイオニアと称されるワインメーカー達に敬意を表して名づけられました。２００４年（ＷＳ９２）がファースト・ヴィンテージです。
シングル・ヴィンヤード・カベルネはひとつ上のグレードで、単一畑の葡萄のみを使った、同ブランドのフラッグシップワインです。２００５年がファースト・ヴィンテージ。２０１０年は、１００％カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨンで、１００％フレンチオーク（７０％新樽）で２４ヶ月熟成。綺麗なアロマを持つフルボディ。２００９年カベルネは、１００％カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨンで、フレンチオーク（６０％新樽）にて２４ヶ月熟成。

ゴースト・ブロックに続いて、サンフランシスコ・クロニクル紙が２００８年春に次世代カルトワインに選んだ１０のワイナリーの１つ「フトー」です。前身は「オークフォード」というワイナリーです。ハーランのワインメーカー、ボブ・レヴィやワイン造りの女神、ハイジ・バレットもここでワインメーカーを務めました。
トム＆ケリー・フトー夫妻により２００４年ヴィンテージでフトーが誕生しました。ヴィンヤード・マネージャーはデヴィット・エイブリュー、ワインメーカーはマーク・オベールというカリフォルニア最強コンビによって造り出されました。２００５年（ＷＡ９５＋）ヴィンテージが日本に正規入荷しましたが、以後姿を消しました。
This small 12-acre vineyard on the western hillside of Oakville has hit the ground running. Their debut release, 2004, has been followed by impressive wines in every subsequent vintage. Proprietor Tom futo and winemaker Mark Aubert have quickly produced a thrilling group of wines.
These proprietary reds are dominated by Cabernet Saivignon, and the 2007 is the finest wine yet produced at Futo. A blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, a whopping 33% Cabernet Franc, and 6 % Petit Verdot, it boasts a dense purple color as well as a gorgeously sweet bouquet of blue and black fruits, spring flowers, and crushed rocks, full-bodied power allied to compelling elegance, and a layered, multidimensional personality. There is plenty of depth in this beauty, and it is no doubt capable of putting on lots of weight and complexity given the Cabernet Franc component. Lastly, Phelps produces a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Buckus Vineyard situated on the eastern slopes of Oakville Corridor overlooking Screaming Eagle and Rudd Estate. The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Buckus Vineyard boasts a stunningly pure nse of blueberries and blackberries with notions of toast and flowers in the background. The floral nature of the fruit only adds to the wine’s complexity. Full-bodied but civilized, this wine’s tannins can be borderline rustic, but that’s not an issue with this glorious, full-bodied, opulent 2007 Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. そして、ハーランのセカンド、メイデンです。ハーランの生産量は約１，５００ケース、メイデンは約１，０００ケースです。ハーランより貴重なメイデンです（笑）。メイデンは「乙女」「少女」の意味を持ちます。ファースト・ヴィンテージは１９９５年。日本への正規入荷は２００５年ヴィンテージから。メイデンはメーリング・リストに名を連ねる者のみが手にすることの出来るワインでしたが、この時初めて輸出を許されました。現在は世界６ヶ国に輸出しています（２００７年は収穫量がすくなかったため輸出はゼロでした）。
The 2009 Proprietary Blend The Maiden wraps around the palate with dark cherries, plums, cinnamon, cloves and new leather. This is a surprisingly muscular style for the year, with quite a bit less of the early appeal than is found in many other wines. The aromas and flavors remain dark, powerful and brooding from start to finish. Flowers, cinnamon and mint add further complexity on the finish. The 2009 Pinot Noir West Block is an exotic wine bursting with dark red cherries, kirsch, hard candy, flowers, licorice and spices. There is plenty of energy, tension and supporting structure to balance some of the wine’s more overt, explosive leanings. The finesse of the 2009 vintage comes across nicely on the polished finish. From a relatively old vineyard (planted in 1970), the 2007 Pinot Noir West block is dazzling Pinot Noir. An extraordinary nose of kirsch, black raspberry, forest floor, crushed rock, and a floral cocktail of notes jump from the glass of this dense ruby/purple-colored wine. Full-bodied, with lots of glycerine, a fleshy mouthfeel, silky tannins, and terrific texture and length, this is probably my favorite Pinot Noir at this stage of its development. ジョン・コングスガードが造り出した究極のシャルドネがザ・ジャッジです。目が覚める、いや目が飛び出る美味しさです。２００２年がファースト・ヴィンテージで、わずか３樽の生産。パーカー・ポイントはいきなり９６－１００点（後に９７点で確定）でした。０３年９９点、０４年９８点、０５年９８点、６年９４点、０７年９８＋点、０９年９８＋点です。ナパ・シャルドネでさえ十分凄いのに・・・。
先日のメルマガでもご案内しましたが、今回はシラーにご注目です。冷涼シラーの代名詞と言われるハドソン・シラー。２００４年、０５年、０８年、０９年、１０年を垂直試飲し、今最高の状態にある２００７年をジョン・コングスガード自らが選び出し、日本市場にリリースしました。ハドソン・ヴィンヤードのオーナー、リー・ハドソンとジョン・コングスガードはＵＣデイヴィス時代からの長い付き合いで、ジョンがニュートンのワインメーカーであった時には、今でこそよく言われる、重量で葡萄を買うのではなく、面積に対して代金を払い低収量の葡萄を得ることを始めたはしりでした。現在ハドソン・ヴィンヤードからルイス、アリエッタ、トアーなどがトップ評価のシラーを生産しています。
「果実のアロマから、２次アロマに変わりつつある。シガー、ビターチョコ、なめし皮、胡椒、クローブ、炭、しっとりとした黒い土など。タンニンはソフトで、長い余韻がおだやかに続く。ジビエ、赤みの肉、鹿などを旨味のあるソースとともに合わせると良い相性を示す。（２０１３年夏ジョン・コングスガードのコメント）」
Kongsgaard’s 2010 Chardonnay wraps around the palate with juicy, yellow, fleshy fruit, smoke and spices. There is pungent, aromatic intensity in the bouquet of these old Wente Chardonnay clones that gives the wine its aromatic heft. Layers of fruit build to the textured, inviting finish. In another year, the oak should be even better integrated than it is today. These parcels are planted with a combination of a Hudson selection of Wente with no seeds and a Muscat version of Wente. The 2011 Chardonnay is pretty bombastic today. Layers of tropical-infused fruit saturate the palate. Today, the 2011 is pretty rich. It will be interesting to see if the wine becomes more refined over the next year. Today, the Muscat clone seems to dominate in the wine’s balance. The 2011 Chardonnay The Judge could be easily mistaken for a top flight Burgundy. Slate, crushed rocks and all things mineral lead to lemon and yellow stone fruits. Even with all of the flavor complexity, the 2011 is mostly about tension and pure vibrant minerality. To be sure, there is plenty of the typical Kongsgaard richness in the glass as well. The 2009 Chardonnay Kistler Vineyard Cuvee Cathleen, from Wente clone, saturates the palate with honey, yellow flowers, marzipan, tangerine and apricots. It possesses stunning depth and intensity, along with persistent saline notes that add lift on the creamy , expansive finish. The Cuvee Cathleen is considerably richer than the straight Kistler Vineyard. Both are striking; which one readers ultimately prefer is strictly personal preference. The 2009 Pinot Noir Occidental Station Cuvee Catherine is flat-out beautiful. All of the elements are in the right place in this majestic, towering Pinot. Layers of fruit emerge gracefully in a wine that seems to never end. The Finest, silkiest of tannins frame the fruit through to the exceptional, sensual finish. This kaleidoscopic, marvelously complete wine is a stunning effort from Steve Kistler and his team. The wine continues to open up in the glass in a fabulous display of class and elegance. The 2009 Pinot Noir Bodega Headlands Cuvee Elizabeth comes across as a bit firmer and less expensive than the Cuvee Catherine. There is a salty, saline quality that runs through the fruit in this powerful, structured wine. Waves of fruit crescendo on the explosive finish. This is a dazzling Pinot Noir, but it will require at least another year or two in bottle to reveal its pedigree. I loved it. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2021. – Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate #199 –
The 2007 Pinot Noir Cuvee Natalie Silver Belt, which emanates from a Sonoma Coast Vineyard, is made from a 50/50 blend of the Swan and Calera heritage California clone. Sweet notes of balsam wood, black raspberries, spring flowers as well as hints of cherry and blueberry are all present in this dark, profoundly rich, broad, and savory Pinot Noir. It is well-built, although still backward and needing several years of bottle-age, but it should evolve for 10-15 years. – Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #180 –

また、ワイン・アヴォドケイト誌（２０１２年６月）ではマーカシンのシャルドネが再評価され、なんと１９９６年、１９９８年、２００１年、２００２年に１００点が付けられました！２００８年を含め、一気に５つの１００点満点が誕生です！（う～ん・・・売るんじゃなかった・・・飲むんじゃなかった・・・涙）
Flirting with perfection, the 2007 Chardonnay Marcassin Estate is a prodigious offering of compelling intensity, minerality, and flavor depth and dimension. An amazing bouquet of poached pears, lemon butter, crushed rocks, and waxy notes intermixed with background hints of spring flowes and a liqueur of stones is followed by a full-bodied wine whose oak component is completely obliterated by the fruit concentration, texture, and depth. This amazing, yet tightly-knit Chardonnay should hit its peak in 2-3 years, and last for 15 or more (the 1998, which was not as strong as this 2007 at the same age, is at its plateau of full maturity with many years of life ahead of it). – Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #187

The 2007 Pinot Noir Marcassin Estate possesses a dense plum/purple color in addition to a big, sweet kiss of spring flowers, forest floor, strawberries, black cherries, fresh porcini mushrooms, raspberries, and soy. Dense, full-bodied, meaty, and fleshy, with high tannins, very good acidity, and formidable intensity, this wine is built for ages. Give it 3-4 years of cellaring and drink it over the following 15+. – Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #187 –

A staggering Chardonnay that’s still an infant, the light yellow/green/gold 2007 offers up notes of unbuttered popcorn, orange liqueur, lemon butter, quince and crushed rocks. It possesses terrific underlying acidity, a full-bodied mouthfeel and a youthfulness that suggest this wine has two decades of life ahead of it. This majestic Chardonnay seems more French than californian, but again, this reflects the significance of the labor of these two overachieving, push-the-envelope visionaries. What California viticulture and high-class, minimalist winemaking can achieve is exhibited in bold fashion by this 2007. It will hit its prime in 5-7 years, and appears to be a replay of the 2002 stylistically as well as for its overall potencial. – Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #201 –

Utterly perfect, the 2008 Chardonnay Marcassin Estate is a dead-ringer for the 2007, but slightly richer and longer, as hard as that may be to believe. This extraordinary effort is unquestionably the “Chardonnay of the Vintage”. In fact, it may be the “Chardonnay of the Decade”. Brioche, nectarine, citrus and orange blossom notes intermixed with a liquor of rocks, great acid, phenomenal concentration and staggering length result in a sublime Chardonnay that should drink well for 15+ years. – Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #193 –
