《　GIRLY GIRL WINES　ガーリー・ガール　》

「ガーリー・ガール・ワインズ」の生みの親であるカレン・ワード（Karen Ward）女史の実家は、高い評価を受けているワシントン州の「シルバー・レイク・ヴィンヤード」です。ワインを身近に感じる環境に育ったカレンさんは７年におよびワイナリーでの仕事に従事していましたが、常々女性をターゲットにしたワインに何か物足りなさを感じていました。

そして生まれたのがこのガーリー・ガールズ・ワインズです。女性をターゲットにし、それぞれの女性のライフスタイル、そして友人と過ごす時間にフォーカスし、４つのセパージュごとにキャラクター付けしたワインを造り上げました（ピノ・グリ、シャルドネ、メルロー、カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨンです）。

キュートで印象的なデザインで、見た目は斬新？なボトルですが、長い間ワイン産業に携わったカレンさんですから、ワイン造りでは手摘みの実践や高品質な樽での熟成などによりワインそのものでも高い評価を得ています。ロバート・パーカー氏は、２００７年のカベルネ・ソーヴィニヨンに９０点を与え、Outstanding Value と評しています。

The clever packaging alone makes the Girly Girl Wines 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon, Roza Hills Vineyard,worth an extra look. The fact that it’s a really good wine at a very nice price makes it an outstanding value. Dark ruby red with an attractive perfume of violets, incense, and black fruits, on the palate itdisplays some elegance, a forward personality, and very good length. アメリカで最も規模が大きく影響力のあるサンフランシスコ・インターナショナル・ワイン・コンペティション２０１１では、１２００のワイナリー、４０００本以上のワインがノミネートする中、２００９年シャルドネがシャルドネ部門でたった６本しか選ばれなかった最高の賞ダブルゴールドメダルを獲得しました。２０１０年ピノ・グリもシルバーメダル、２００８年のメルローとカベルネ・ソーヴィニヨンもブロンズメダルとノミネートした全てのワインが受賞を果たしました。
