ソノマのルシアン・リヴァー・ヴァレーで、バーガンディ・スタイルの極上の シャルドネとピノ・ノワールを生産している「デュモル」です。

デュモルは１９９６年設立ながら、すでにカルトワイン生産者の仲間入り をしています。オーナーはケヴィン・マーフィー氏。ワインメーカーはスコット ランド人のアンディ・スミス氏。アンディ・スミス氏はポール・ホッブス氏のもと でワイン造りを学びました。

I would have to rank Dumol as one of my favorite half dozen producers of California Chardonnay as well as one of the top twenty in terms of Pinot Noir. With Highly committed proprietor Kerry Murphy and talented winemaker Andy Smith, Dumol continues to be one of the most reliable names in wine- dom for high quality Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Moreover, consumers should not overlook their top flight Viognier and blockbuster Syrahs.

２００８年ルシアン・リヴァー・ヴァレー・シャルドネは、ルシアン・リヴァー・ヴァレー の８つの畑からの葡萄を使用。平均樹齢は３年から３４年。１エーカー当りの 収穫量は２～３トンです。

６２％ダトン・ランチDutton Ranch内の５つのヴィンヤード、 ２４％ハインツ・ランチHeintz Ranch、 ９％デュモル・エステート（自社畑）、５％シアビーSearby　から 全て手摘みで、房のまま（除梗をせずに）プレス。自然酵母でフレンチオーク の小樽にて発酵（新樽比率１５％）。シュール・リー状態で１６ヶ月の熟成。 その後さらに２ヶ月間タンクで落ち着かせ、ノンフィルターでボトリング。

輝きのある黄金色。洋梨や白桃のフルーツ香と一緒に、ハーブやミネラルの 香りがあります。オークの風味、ブリオッシュの風味。リッチなフルーツの果実味 がいっぱいです。骨格のしっかりとした果実味が長く力強く続きます。パワー だけでなく爽やかささえ感じる綺麗な味わいです。パワフルでエレガントで ビューティフルなシャルドネです。

パーカー評価による２００８年シングル・ヴィンヤードのシャルドネは、 このクロエChloe（リッチー）の９５点がトップです。以下イソベルIsobel　（チャールズ・ハインツ）が９３点、クレアClare（ハイド）が９２＋点です。

クロエは、６７％リッチーRitchie、３３％シアビーSearbyから。除梗 せずにプレスし、フレンチオークで１６ヶ月の熟成（新樽比率５２％）。 ノンフィルターでボトリングされます。生産量は１，４００ケースです。 蜜のようなリッチさと十分なミネラル感があります。

My favorite 2008 Dumol white is the 2008 Chardonnay Chloe, which comes primarily from the Ritchie Vineyard’s 36-year old parcel planted with the old Wente clone. A big, extroverted perfume of orange rinds, citrus oil, lychee nuts, quince and white currants intermingled with a hints of crushed rocks soars from the glass this dry, full-bodied Chardonnay. With exuberant fruit intensty, a stru- ctured mouthfeel and amazing length, it should drink well fora decade or more. – Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #193 –

ピノ・ノワールは、アイデンAidenの９３点がトップです。フラッグシップ でもあるフィンFinnが ９１点、ライアンRyanが９０点です。

アイデンは、除梗せずにプレスし、フレンチオークで１４ヶ月の熟成 （新樽比率５０％）。ノンフィルターでボトリング。生産量はわずか ３７７ケースです。ダークチェリーなどを感じさせる赤黒い果実味は しっかりとした骨格を持ちながらも、ほど良い柔らかみを持ちます。

The 2008 Pinot Noir are led by The 2008 Pinot Noir Aiden, which is made from the modern Dijon clones of 115 and 777. Yields in 2008 were a minuscule 1,75 tons of fruit per acre, hence production is down considerably. Aromas of forest floor, plum sauce, black currants, blueberries and a complex rosepetal-like character emerge from this dark ruby-colored 2008. With medium to full body and good acidity, this beauty can be drunk over the next 10-12years. – Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #193 –
